The exclusive Mercury Racing Sport Master® lower unit gearcase offers performance boaters heavy-duty durability for boats traveling over 85 mph. The Sport Master® lower has a larger torpedo, enhancing drive control and stability at higher speeds.
The Sport Master® short gearcase is 2 inches shorter than the standard size Sport Master® gearcase. This permits lowering the transom X dimension by 2 inches, and mounting the engine two inches lower in the boat, while maintaining an optimal propeller position. Gain engine hatch clearance and lower overall center of gravity for improved handling. The Sport Master Short has the same super hydrodynamic design as the Sport Master standard.
