Active Trim is Mercury Marine's Patented GPS-based Automatic Trim System.

Active Trim is a speed-based, automatic engine trim system from Mercury Marine. Active Trim provides instant automatic trim for compatible outboards and sterndrives. This intuitive, hands-free system continually adjusts engine trim for changes in operating conditions to improve performance, increase fuel economy and optimize cruising speed at the touch of a button. Active Trim responds to boat maneuvers with precision and delivers a better overall driving experience. No knowledge of trimming an engine is required to utilize Active Trim.

Benefits/How it works:

As the boat accelerates, the engine trims out.
As the boat decelerates, makes a turn, etc., the engine will trim in.
Override the feature at any time by using the manual trim buttons
Active Trim allows the operator to compensate for changes in driver preferences, weather, boat load while maintaining full automatic control.
Controlled by either a dash mounted key pad or a current Vesselview multifunction display

Active Trim is compatible with:

Mercury 4-stroke Outboards from 40 - 400 HP
Mercury SmartCraft Capable 2 stroke outboards
Mercury SmartCraft capable gas and diesel sterndrive engines with digital trim senders

NOTE: Not all engine models come from the factory with a digital trim sensor. In some cases, a trim sensor or conversion kit may need to be installed.

Additional parts may be required with kits depending on your boats rigging. Kits may include the Active Trim pad, ECU, harness and if necessary, digital trim sender.
