The Moving Prop Alert Light System: Making Boating Safer

Be proactive and let swimmers, water skiers, etc. know the propeller is in motion. The MP Alert proactively handles this with a system of LED ligts on the stern of the boat. Available in round or oval shaped lights. Works great on swim platforms or smaller mounting surfaces.

How does this work? 
The MP Alert light is activated when your engines computer detects that the engine has been started or is in gear. Once your engine has started, the LED light will flash and remain lit while the engine is running in neutral. When the engine is shifted into gear (forward or reverse), the light will flash in a rotation – similar to how a propeller rotates. After the engine reaches a certain RPM, the light will turn off.

What do you need?
You'll need a Smartcraft enabled engine and a CAN Bus network. The system works on a CAN based module, reading the RPM and gear position from the SmartCraft CAN Bus. Email us your Mercury engine serial number if you are unsure whether you have a SmartCraft engine and a CAN bus network.

How many engines does it support?
Up to 4 SmartCraft engines.

Other information: The MP Alert has an optional dash mounted switch to manually turn off the system. The control module will monitor the status of the MP Alert and will light a status LED to remind the boater if the system has been turned off.
