The supercharged 450R's are for the high-performance disciple craving unrelenting power, looking for exhilarating performance across the entire RPM range. Boosted by an exclusive Mercury Racing supercharger, the 4.6-liter V-8 FourStroke powerhead delivers 450 peak horsepower - 40 percent more torque than the powerful 400R while staying 300 pounds lighter than the nearest competitor.
450R's are available with 2 different gearcases. The heavy duty (HD) offshore 5.44" diameter torpedos provide extra lift for heavier boats and multi-engine performance center console boats. The Sportmaster lower is a surface piercing gearcase delivering race proven performance for boats capable of speeds exceeding 85 mph. The Sportmaster lower has low water pick-ups and a crescent leading edge to maximize efficiency and speed. Shaft lengths are 20" (L), 25" (XL) or 30" (XXL)
