Lightweight, smooth and quiet, the 400hp 409 MPI Bravo engine features a flat-plane crankshaft (similar to a Corvette Z06)  that generates serious torque and horsepower, delivering an exciting boost in speed and hole shot when re-powering classic stern drive and inboard boats.

400 HP @ 5,800 RPM. 409 cubic inch fully dressed marine engine.Replaces 454 HO, 502 HO, 496 Mag & 406 HO stern drive engines including SeaCore and Horizon Bravo models.

Replacement for 21- to 31-foot single-engine boats and 28- to 38-foot twin-engine boats built before 2010 (prior to 2008 in California)and powered by 6.2L, 7.4L, 8.1L or 8.2L sterndrive and inboard engines.Because this is a completely new engine and not a major repair assembly,the old engine being replaced is to be returned per EPA rule 1068.240. BAM Marine will take care of getting your core back to the factory.
