SmartCraft Connect MFD Compatibility List

SmartCraft Connect allows compatible Mercury and MerCruiser engines to share available engine information with supported marine displays. Compatibility depends on the display brand, exact model, software version and whether SmartCraft Connect Level 2 or Level 3 is selected.

Which SmartCraft Connect Level Do I Need?

Level 2 and Level 3 both provide access to available SmartCraft engine information, but they have different display and activation requirements.

SmartCraft Connect Level 2

Level 2 must be connected to a qualifying Simrad® or Mercury VesselView display for activation and continued operation.

Qualifying Level 2 displays:

  • Simrad NSX
  • Simrad NSX Ultrawide
  • Simrad NSS 4
  • Mercury VesselView 704
  • Next Generation VesselView 705, 905 or 1005

When installing a Next Generation VesselView, the VesselView display itself fulfills the Level 2 requirement. You do not need an additional display for activation.

SmartCraft Connect Level 3

Level 3 provides broader display flexibility and does not require a particular display brand for activation.

Choose Level 3 for:

  • Garmin®- or Raymarine®-only systems
  • Supported Garmin, Raymarine and Simrad displays
  • Next Generation VesselView 705, 905 or 1005
  • Greater flexibility to change or add supported display brands later

Level 3 also works with Next Generation VesselView, but Level 2 is normally the more economical choice when the VesselView will remain installed.

Important Compatibility Notes

  • Not all chartplotters, GPS units or MFDs support all SmartCraft features.
  • Software updates may be required to enable the Mercury interface.
  • Some displays may show limited engine information only.
  • Compatibility depends on the exact display model, software version, engine and SmartCraft network configuration.
