Mercruiser/Quicksilver Anodes...often referred to as zincs. Sacrificial anodes counteract galvanic corrosion by adding a third metal into the circuit, one that is quicker than the other two to give up its electrons! We have aluminum, magnesium and zinc anodes and MerCathodes to protect you Mercruiser sterndrive, gearcase, lower unit, trim tabs, power trim, anything Mercruiser. 

Mercathodes protect the drive unit from galvanic corrosion. The increased output provides greater protection for underwater aluminum parts. Its reliable, efficient operation requires an automatic insignificant amount of current when protection is needed. It is a solid-state device that operates off a boat's 12-volt battery and provides protection by impressing a reverse blocking current that stops the destructive flow of galvanic currents. If your power package does not come already equipped with a MerCathode system, we strongly recommend that you install one, particularly if your boat is equipped with a stainless steel propeller or other submerged stainless steel hardware. The MerCathode should be tested annually for proper operation.

Aluminum is for use in saltwater or freshwater. Magnesium is for fresh water only. Zinc is not recommended for fresh water. Protect your investment!
