Anode/reference electrode unit mounts in place of zinc anode under the gimbal housing, eliminating the need to drill holes through the transom. The new black Gen III MerCathode controller with the red decal is mounted inside the boat.

Automatically protects the sterndrive from galvanic corrosion. A solid state device that operates off a 12 volt power. The increased output provides greater protection for underwater aluminum parts. Its reliable, efficient operation requires an insignificant amount of current when protection is needed.
