Anode/reference electrode unit mounts in place of zinc anode under the gimbalhousing, eliminating the need to drill holes through the transom. The new blackGen III Mercathode controller with the blue decal is mounted inside the boat.

Fits: R, MR, Alpha One & Gen II, and Bravo drives. (2013 and older)

The Mercathode systemprotects the sterndrive from galvanic corrosion. A solidstate device that operates off 12 volt power. The increased output providesgreater protection for underwater aluminum parts. Its reliable, efficientoperation requires an insignificant amount of current when protection isneeded.
