Refundable core deposit. Due to EPA regulations sales of new complete engines requires the return of your old engine to Mercury Marine, this is called a "Core".

NOTE: Because the engine you are purchasing is a completely new engine and not a major repower assembly, the old engine core being replaced is to be returned per EPA 1068.240.

Due to EPA regulations sales of new complete engines requires the return of your old engine to Mercury Marine, this is called a "Core".

Once your old engine is returned to Mercury this deposit is returned to you.

Shipping cost for the return is paid by Mercury/BAM so there is no additional cost (within US only).

If your powerhead, longblock or transmission core is cracked, has a hole in it, or has ingested water only 50% of your deposit will be returned.

Most items with core charges come in a re-usable container that makes this process easy. We will issue the pick up from your location once the core is ready.
