All new Quicksilver cast iron cylinder head, hardened valve seats press fit into the cylinder head with stainless steel valves featuring seats treated with a cobalt-chromium alloy for extreme durability. This cylinder head features screw-in rocker studs. Early design large intake ports require the use of gasket 27-96429.

Exclusive to Quicksilver are Black-X Composite valves that are stainless steel valves with seats treated with a cobalt-chromium alloy and black plasma nitriding. This composition provides extreme durability when using gasoline and compatibility with alcohol and alternative fuels.
