Bravo Four S - Front Facing Drive

Mercury designed the Bravo Four S front-facing drive specially for the emerging generation of wake surfers.

The Bravo 4 S moves smoothly through water with great handling and efficiency. This new forward-facing design has dual contra-rotating 4 & 3 blade props facing towards the boat vs. away. This design creates the perfect wake for tow sports, plus it reduces noise, vibration and harshness.

If you're wondering what the big difference is between a traditional sterndrive and a forward facing drive (besides the obvious that prop shaft runs ahead, rather than behind) it's the safety for your wake surfers. Wake surfers operate in close proximity to the props, so it's best to have the props under the hull. In addition, family runabout boat owners can now enjoy wake surfing, once restricted to inboard tow-sports boats.

Another cool safety feature is the breakaway system. If your drive hits a submerged object, the studs on the lower unit will break. This lets the drive separate, which helps protect the boaters and the hull.

The adjustable, trimmable drive expands your surf boat's capabilities. Whether you drive or tow, this drive offers great versatility.

With 5 pre-set launch styles, you can pick a strong start for experienced riders or a gentle start for beginners. Once the operator chooses the intensity, they can forget about giving it too much throttle. The Smart Tow® system guarantees an ideal experience every time.

Digital throttle and shift (DTS) comes standard on the 4S. DTS uses electronic signals instead of mechanical cables. This gives you more precision control plus the DTS comes with cruise control, Smart Tow, Troll Control and push-button start/stop.

Digital controls integrate surf tab and propulsion with CZone (digital switching) ballast. This lets you easily choose tow sports activities. You can customize speed and wake using Mercury SmartCraft® technology on your VesselView® touchscreen (sold separately).

TECHNICAL STUFF:

The Bravo Four S drive is compatible with MerCruiser sterndrive engines ranging from 250 to 430 HP. You can pair these drives with the following MerCruiser DTS gas sterndrive engines:

4.5L V6 -250 HP
6.2L V8 -300 or 350 HP
8.2L V8 -380 or 430 HP

You can use your existing Bravo digital transom with these drives. Contact Us with your transom & engine serial numbers to ensure proper fitment.
