Using Legacy DTS Controls (Gen 1 ERC's) with Gen 2/Next Gen Rigging
In 2021 Mercury Marine released new DTS digital controls (ERC's) called "Gen 2" or "Next Gen". Instead of an addtional comand module (CCM), the CCM is now built into the control itself. Rigging has been simplified with color coded and keyed harnesses. This eliminates unused connections and has simplified installation.
With this new design you get more room and less clutter under your dash. Clean power is now isolated to critical components. A new stackable 5-way junction box helps keep the cables organized.
The digital controls shown below can work with this new, neater, efficient way of rigging. You'll just need a legacy control module, otherwise known as an LCM and an LCM harness.
Your Mercury Smartcraft engine must be 2007 or newer to use these. Please use the Contact Us tab below with your engine serial number if you're unsure of your manufacture date.
