Just as a high performance or racing engine is built to more exacting
specifications than a production engine, Mercury's legendary prop lab is
available to modify production and racing propellers for optimum
performance. Using the experience gained from years of testing at Lake X
and race courses around the world , the lab will blueprint and balance a
stock propeller to get the last few miles an hour out of your boat. RPM
adjustments of up to 200 RPM are possible.
Speed increases of 2-3 miles per hour are common. In many cases, this
is the biggest gain for the least money you can make. Prices are about
$160 for each blade (3 or 4).
